Privacy and location data

Your flight track.
Handled clearly.

This policy explains how GEIMAS.AERO and the Geimas Aero mobile app process competition access details and precise GPS data.

01

Who we are

GEIMAS.AERO (also referred to as “GEIMAS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides tools for air navigation race organisers, crews and public competition viewers. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@geimas.lt.

02

Data we collect

When you validate a competition code, we process the code and return the related competition, task and crew details. When you start GPS tracking, the app records precise latitude and longitude, timestamps, altitude, horizontal and vertical accuracy, speed and heading.

We may also process basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request time and error or server logs. The app does not use location data for advertising and does not contain third-party advertising trackers.

GPS

When location recording happens

Location recording begins only after you have validated a crew code, selected a task when required, and explicitly confirmed START. It continues in the background and while the screen is locked so the competition track is complete. Recording stops when you press STOP or revoke location access in iOS Settings.

03

How we use the data

  • Validate crew access and link the track to the correct competition and task.
  • Record, synchronise and recover a flight track when internet access is interrupted.
  • Show live positions and tracks to authorised competition managers.
  • Show the crew name and route on geimas.aero when the competition is public.
  • Keep competition records and allow GPX export, scoring, support and troubleshooting.
04

Storage and sharing

Each GPS point is written to a local SQLite database on the phone first. When internet access is available, pending points are uploaded to the AirNavRace service at airnavrace.amiteam.tech. A validated access token is stored securely on the device.

Competition organisers and authorised managers can access tracks for the events they manage. If an event is public, live and recorded tracks, together with the related crew name, may be visible to visitors on geimas.aero. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process data only as needed to operate the service. We do not sell personal data.

05

Retention and your choices

Recorded tracks remain on the phone after STOP so they can finish uploading and be exported as GPX. Removing the app or its data removes these local copies. Server-side tracks are retained for competition administration, scoring and results until they are deleted by the organiser or GEIMAS, or a valid deletion request is completed.

You can stop collection at any time by pressing STOP or disabling location permission in iOS Settings. You may ask for access, correction or deletion by emailing info@geimas.lt. We may need enough competition and crew information to identify the relevant track. Copies already exported by a competition organiser are outside the app’s direct control.

06

Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS transport, access-controlled competition management and secure on-device token storage. No system can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change. The latest version and effective date will remain available on this page.
